Security Tool (which is a clone of Total Security 2009) is but a dangerous application part of the malware family. Using criminal methods (scam ones), this program will try to trick you into buying its full and totally fake version. The main way such a spyware will try to scare PC users is using fake alerts besides false pop-ups. Check here How to Remove Security Tool to learn how to remove Security tool.

You will get infected by a threat like Security Tool via Trojans. You do get those Trojans from compromised web pages. Some pages are fake promotions of on-line scanners. Hijacking your web browser is the next step those Trojans will do. Then your browser will be redirected to some download links that will download and install that threat (Security Tool). Another method that Security Tool uses to invade user systems is to redirect the user to 2tvtube.com or a2tv.com which are both fake websites. On these web pages, you will be prompted to download some Flash video codec. Rather than installing a video codec, once you’re going to download that file, you will rather download and install Security Tool. Another trick used to install that threat is to redirect you to some websites having a tittle like “My Computer Online Scan”. That page will seems to be some online system scan of My Computer. Attempting such online scan will result in having a warning that your My Computer folder is compromised by some very bad malware then you will be asked to choose between Yes or No. Choosing either option will cause Security Tool to get downloaded and installed on the user’s computer. This site Security Tool Removal Windows 7 has all the infos you do need if you want to remove Security Tool when having Windows 7 on your PC while here Security Tool you will learn how to remove Security Tool.

Once it has infected a computer system, this spyware will stay resident in memory whenever you do log into Windows. It will then do some totally fake system scan of your system. You will then get many warnings, alerts, and more telling your that your computer system has been compromised by lots of viruses. Here are some example of alerts you will get: “Your Computer is infected” or “Warning! 55 viruses found!”. Some possible warnings you might get about your Internet browser includes things like “Spyware.IEMonster activity detected”.

This is all spyware that attempts to steal passwords from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook and other programs. Others possibilities include warnings like “Click here to remove it immediately  with Security Tool’ or “Security Tool Warning: Some critical system files of your computer were modified by malicious program”. It may cause system instability and data loss. Click here to block unauthorized modification by removing threats (Recommended)”. Sometimes your computer system might not be able to detect USB flash drives being connected to your PC mostly because Security Tool won’t allow it. The moment this threat has infected your PC, you will get lots of warning pop-ups on your Windows Taskbar.

So the moment you want to take into account what Security Tool is telling you and you are ready to clean your PC, this malware will say that the actual version you have is but a trial one that cannot remove all those threats and that you need to upgrade to the full version (a paying one). However, no matter how much the user may pay for this license, the so-called ‘full’ version of Security Tool is completely incapable of cleaning out any threats from the computer, as the threats were false in the first place. So it more than important not to fall into this trap.
The best method to remove Security Tool is to use a good antivirus solution (or a similar web service) that is going to scan and fully clean your system.
