Apple has so far marketed three generations of their iPad mini, their mini-tablet with a 7.9-inch touchscreen. First announced in October 2012, the first generation iPad mini was released a month later, to be followed by the iPad mini 2 shortly after, and the iPad mini 3 in October 2014.
The iPad mini will support iOS 9.0 and the 2 and 3 have the same Retina Display that was pioneered by the iPad 3. So you can support similar apps to what you’d find on the bigger iPad, only in a lighter and more compact form.
They don’t come cheap, though. And if you’re buying an iPad mini be sure to get insurance against damage, knocks, and any malfunctioning. Otherwise you’ll have to pay out all over again to get a replacement.
Our iPad Insurance lets you protect your iPad from as little as £2.99 per month.
For a small monthly price you can rest easy knowing your iPad is completely covered.
