The iPad 1, or first generation iPad, was the original Apple tablet. Launched by Apple in January 2010 and on sale from April that year, the iPad 1 sold more than 15 million units worldwide. Production was discontinued in March 2011 but you can still get the original iPad if you look hard enough.
The iPad 1 featured email, web, games, GPS navigation, social media and music apps, and could come with 16, 32, or 64GB of memory. The liquid crystal display was made up of 1024 x 768 pixels and the iPad was powered by the A4 processor to support iOS 3.2 up to iOS 5.1.1.
